The Sun - Pressure group Fathers 4 Justice is to close

PRESSURE group Fathers 4 Justice is to close because its founder has chosen to “put my family first."

The crusaders for dads’ rights, carried out a string of infamous stunts, dressing as superheroes or Santa Claus and scaling buildings and cranes.

Recently, members spent hours on the roof of Deputy Prime Minister Harriet Harman’s home.

But yesterday Matt O’Connor, who started the group in 2002, said the campaign had become “untenable”.

He said: “I’ve been privileged to work with truly heroic people. I’ve given six years of my life. But the day has come to put my family first.”

The group closed briefly in 2006 after allegations of a plot to kidnap PM Tony Blair’s son.
